Ottawa or Humber

I know I am getting ahead of myself here, but I just wanted to be armed with information.

When going through Kingston, from what I understand, you can choose between being referred to Ottawa or to Humber in Toronto.

Does anyone have any comments on either, or what would be the better choice- re: experience, wait times etc.

Either would be fine for me, I am flexible.

Thanks :)

Humber is attempting to cycle people through from Orientation to Surgery for their own in 6 months... They seem to be doing better with speed there.

I don't know anything about Ottawa to make a comparison.

But I can say that the level of care at Humber is excellent

I would base it on what place is easiest to get to for your support network. If your friends and family can visit easier in Ottawa then choose Ottawa and vise versa. Don't forget that you will also have a one week, one month, three month and six month and a one year check up appointments. I would chose the centre that is easiest to get to.

Both Humber River and Ottawa have excellent programs.

Wishing you all the best on your weight loss journey!

I was registered at Humber however that does not mean you will go to Humber Hospital! There are hospitals

In Toronto that do the surgery as well. I went to St Josephs Health Care & had Dr Lindsey

I just went thru the Kingston program, they auto send everyone to Ottawa unless you request otherwise. Basically because you have to stay close to the hospital ifyou have family in one of the cities ask for that one. I requested Toronto and yes it is very speedy, and i love the kingston clinic!

I had my rny surgery in ottawa on sept. 28 it was top notch. I never had any complications at all. Im sure humber is good too but i cant comment on them as i never went through there. But you really cant go wrong going through ottawa. I did hear though that humber is a bit faster because they have more surgeons there that do the surgery. Ottawa has 3 now and humber has i think 5 but i could be wrong.
