Surgeons Appointment

I have my surgeons appointment at St Joe's with Dr Gmora tomorrow at 9:15 am.  I'm anxious, excited, nervous, terrified, happy, sad, etc etc etc.  I'm going in armed with the info I need to hopefully get the sleeve, but was advised on my facebook group to sign the papers for the RNY anyway and then fight for the sleeve if they only offer the RNY.  I take advil and tylenol arthritis daily and cannot go without them for life. So I'm going in to fight for my life and will eventually convince them that the sleeve is the right surgery for me.   A big thank you to all of you here on the board for being here for us and helping us through this adventure.  It would be almost impossible to do this without the support of you all!   Thanks, Terry

Have you investigated what you need to say to get the sleeve?  It may also result in a delay as they have to get approval for it.

Good luck I went for my appointment last Friday and I felt the same was very nervous. I went in armed with the information as well about the sleeve and was ready to fight for the sleeve but I was lucky that it was actually the doctor *****commended the sleeve due to my medical conditions before I could say a word to him about it. If the doctor agrees that you meet the requirements there is no need to wait for approval from OHIP they will have you sign the consent for the sleeve instead of the RNY which I did.

Best of luck to you Terry, I wish I had fought harder. I have arthritis and can't take my Naprosyn any longer and I am suffering for it.
