Tracking carbs, protein, etc...

I have not been able to consistently track my food intake. Between kids, work and life I just can't seem to master this.
Could you please share how you achieve this?

I use MyPlate on livestrong.com.  I am busy too, however I make it a point to track.  I think you are pretty early out ?  I didn't start using MyPlate until I started eating actual food :) lol

Good luck !  it's tough but eventually it becomes a habit.  Now I couldn't imagine not tracking.  I know I wouldn't do well :)

I like myfitnesspal.  It has a huge database - better than any other program I've tried.

As well, the best thing for me is the app on my phone that has a pie chart button that shows the composition of your diet in terms of carbs/proteins/fat and their percentages in your diet. for me that is key to losing long term.

with myfitmnesspal.com you can use your smartphone to scan the barcode of food you're eating and it provides nutrient levels.  I hear you though, its a challenge!

I use the health tracker here because I am lazy enough to not want to add all my things to another site and I started here months ago.

I use myfitnesspal on my iPhone. That way I can track easily no matter where I am, & like Ian said you can use the barcode scanner (which is awesome, I might add!)

And as much as we are supposed to concentrate on our eating & not be watching tv or on the pc during meals, that's usually when I enter my data. Having said that, it's just me & hubby & he is usually either on the pc or watching tv while we eat, so it's easier for me to do this than it would be for someone with kids. If not while I eat then I do it right after. It needs to be a priority, I have committed to doing everything I can to succeed & tracking my food intake is part of that.

I use myfitnesspal and love it. It has lots and lots of foods in the database and lots of restaurant food too, which can help if you like to eat out.

I am truly old school - paper and pen. And I only track  protein as my dietitian says it's too early for the others.
