5 big whole weeks
So, I am 5 weeks out from my surgery today. Hard to believe I was laying in a hospital bed just waking from surgery only 5 weeks ago. I have no regrets. I have not rejected any foods. I really take my time, eat very small bites and eat only what I know I should. I am down 33 glorious pounds. Good riddance. I am back to work on modified hours , and have requested them for next week as well. Only thing I find is I am tired. Just the routine of work again and getting back into action. I am walking to help increase my energy and taking in between 500 and 700 cals a day. I am trying to drink lots as fluids can only be good. The more water the better. I have been drinking my protein shakes if I fail to get enough from food. The protein bars are too dense for me right now, they sit heavy even a nibble and they do have alot of carbs.....thanks to all that pointed that out and advised me to drink those darn shakes. So all in all, its been a good 5 weeks, like I said no regrets. My RNY is the best decision I ever made for me !!!!
Good to hear you are doing well Arlene. I go back to work on modified hours next Tuesday for 2 week then bull time starting May 28th. Glad you stuck with the protein shakes. I found them too heavy the first couple of week so I did soup with unflavoured protein powder. That got me through. We are all different. Just gotta get that protein in eh?
Take care, Karen
Hey Karen glad u are doing well also. Ya that darn protein....LOL. But hey I gotta do what I gotta do. This is the life I chose, and when I step on the scales I am reminded of the rewards. I need new clothes already, tops for work etc. U know I saw a girl at work today who had rny a few yrs ago, stuffing a bag of chips into her mouth...she made me so mad I walked away. I am so glad I decided to make a life change, not just enjoy the rewards and then mess it up.....
Great update! :) Sounds like you're doing really, really well! :)

Thanks for the update Arlio! and very happy for you that all is going so well. I found that I was tired in the first weeks too but it does get better. Congrats on your successes and bring on summer. Try to ignore the 'chip lady' - maybe she was having a bad hair day or something. Keep up the great job
Nancy
Thanks Nancy, ya the chip girl ****** me off, in general..... LOL. Yes bring on summer, I already find I can do more stuff and not be winded, but a bit tired. Like you said it will pass and when it does, look out, I am gonna tear up the town !!! Cant wait for my dad to get the boat out of storage so I can get on the water !!! And holidays in July, maybe a water park, there is a big on in or near Ottawa.
