Almost 6 months post op..so many changes..
Hey there!
It's been a while since I posted but I'm baaaack :) Well as of Aug 7th, I will be 6 months post op. I'm currently 83 pounds down and counting. Starting weight was 249 and I'm currently 166lbs. Can you believe that?? I don't think I have been 166lbs since I was in my early teens. So many things have happened since having this surgery, it is definitely a surreal experience.
Even though I'm 83 pounds down, I still see myself as the fat girl. I don't think my brain has quite caught up yet.
- I'm still moving against the aisle for people to get through at the grocery store, even though there is a ton of room.
- I'm still going to the plus size section at the clothing section until I realize.. size 12 not 22
- I now see all my physical flaws that the fat was hiding all these years, I think I'm more critical of myself now than I was at 249lbs. Before I was the fat girl and I could hide behind it and blame the fat for any of my downfalls, I can't do that anymore. I gotta take ownership.
- I see people, men in particular, look at me and I think..wtf are they looking at? Is it cuz I'm still too fat? My husband says its because I'm so beautiful now.awww.. i'm a lucky girl.
This surgery has also given me and my family back the life we were supposed to have. A life with me happy & healthy, smiling more, my kids laughing more and we are excited for what the future holds. Sky's the limit now.
For all of those people on the fence about the surgery, you deffo have to weigh the pros & cons and be ready mentally & physically for this surgery. For me, this surgery closed an old chapter in a crappy book and I am now writing a new amazing book with no regret.
