This was on one of the Cdn pharmacy websites..

Due to a North American wide manufacture shortage of the 30ml size of B12, we are not able to ship any 30 ml. PLEASE NOTE: There are no restrictions on the 10ml size. Timeline for the 30ml size is projected for October, we and the manufactures are doing our best to speed up this timeline.

We are aware and apologise for the inconvenience this has caused, it is out of our control. If you wish to be notified as soon as the 30ml size comes available please call 1-888-595-1393 and have yourself added to our call list. PLEASE NOTE: There are no restrictions on the 10ml size.

Hiya Crstlww,

You might be in better luck at other pharmacies - like ones in a hospital or beside/near a doctor's office that isn't a Shoppers Drug Mart.   I've bought Sandoz brand vitamin B12 at Sunnybrook hospital (they come in 1 mL ampoules so you don't dull your needle by going into a rubber seal like you do with the 10 mL or more vials)  and when I was preop,  I would buy Cytex brand 10 mL vials at Forest Hill Apothecary pharmacy beside my family doctor's office.

Check to see what other pharmacies are in your area and give them a call to see if they have any in stock.  Hope this helps!

Sandoz has had ++ issues with manufacturing this last year resulting in a shortage of many drugs.  So it could be that.  Might also be that B12 for injection is super cheap $6.99 for 10 ml lasting 10 months and this doesn't help Shopper's make a profit on the pills and meltaway strips.

I work in healthcare and can't imaging that B12 is not going to be available anywhere in injectable form.  It is used often in ERs and with seniors related to pernicious anemia as tablets are so poorly absorbed.  Probably just a Shopper's issue and an issue with 30 ml as previous poster supplied.  Check another pharmacy.

It's a manufacturing issue....we've had shortages all summer long here.  It won't be for too much longer though.

I just went to my local superstore and stocked up on the individual monthly dose.  They had heard there was going to be a shortage and stocked up too.
