I had my hysto done over 10 years ago.  I was always gaining weight, so couldn't really blame it on the hysterectomy, but it does make it a nice scapegoat.  I think many women say they gain weight after going through menopause but really it may have more to do with life changes in general and aging.  Just keep working your tool and still love your body, it has served you well.

Unless your ovaries are being removed (which in a basic hysterectomy doesn't happen) it will make no difference whatsoever.

I do not know what your age is so it is hard to comment. I was already in menopause when I had my hysterectomy last March. I was 14 months out. For me it has not made a bit of difference. I had a full open surgery because the fibroid they were removing was so large they had to open me up.

If you follow your program it should not make a difference

I am waiting for the call to get one as well. I am 10 months out. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!! My Gynecologist is doing it vaginally so now more external scarring! I requested the hysterectomy due to my menstrual flow being screwy since surgery (VERY heavy) plus I am still single and almost 42.. He offered a few things I told him TAKE IT ALL OUT!

I am almost 5 years post-op and had my hysterectomy in late January 2013....in total over the last two years I have gained approx 14lbs.....and most of that was last x-mas when I threw caution to the wind.

Just remember your good eating habits and keep yourself in check..it's not like a little food monster takes over once you have a hysterectomy~!!

prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.

life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!.  Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
