This year for Christmas I will be spending it with a girl friend watching cheesy movies and corny tv.

Im wondering what I will be able to eat that day? I will be 22 days out of surgery.

I don't know why I'm drawing a blank here, but I would love suggestions.

What do you think I will be able to tolerate?

no there will not be a normal christmas dinner cooked. My family leave out of province and who I normally spend the holidays with won't be around. So it's just me and a friend and she is celebrating and having all the christmas dinner stuff  on Christmas Eve.

You should still be on pureed so anything that is being served can be pureed.  Chicken and gravy or turkey and gravy or beef and gravy, they all puree very well.  If you aren't doing even anything like that, you could puree chili or shephard's pie.  A few mashed potatoes, some mashed veggies on the side with the pureed meat and gravy/broth.

Thanks!

my friend suggested meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

What you think about that?

Meatloaf should be fine, just make sure to have gravy or ketchup or something as sometimes ground meat can be dry and you need something for lube.  Sounds perverted doesn't it? LOL

Agree - really make sure the meatloaf is lubed up ;) I had my first taste of dry meat getting stuck tonight and omg. The pain is so horrible. Almost four hours later and I'm still having trouble. I'd go with chilli or really moist meatloaf puree :)

And the total amount of this meal should be around 1-2  Tbsp to a 1/2 c eaten slowly? It still blows my mind - the thought of  1-2 Tbsp to 1/2 cup of food being a lot....piggy backing on this question as I will be 20 days post-op.
