Second Full Marathon completed. Not quite the way I wanted.

Thank you all. I have gotten over my disappointment and am moving on. I am resting for a bit. And will start back in with swimming, cycling and yoga for now. Generally speaking, trying to obtain a BQ on a second marathon is a pretty big undertaking this early in my "career". I just trained for it, so I should have surpassed it. But things happen. And as Karen said, I am succeeding at life. I do take life to the fullest now, because I now know that I deserve it. I took this tool I was given in March, 2011 and I ran with it. Literally :-) I'm not quitting, i'm moving ahead. Next year's goals are now set with the Toronto Marathon in May, a half-Iron sometime late-summer/early Fall, and my full IronMan in Kentucky.

Yes, I am a bit insane.

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

You forgot one Around the Bay I hope you are still going to do that one. Us people who do that one are truly insane running out there in the cold. It is a crazy race. As as I  told you right now rest. Get the body healed and strong. i am fighting something right now so hope I am healed for my race. Does not matter i will go out and do it because I am crazy

Yes!! I did forget that one! It fits in well with my training too! I don't mind running in the cold, I bundle up like crazy, and I have a new coat from Columbia that has that thermal insulation (shiny material). I used it the day before the marathon, just for my slow 3k, and I was sweating!!!! (and that was just the inside shell jacket).

But yep, i'm joining you in Hamilton my dear. Can't wait!

We will have to meet up for sure. you are welcome to join the group for when we do the practice run of the course. It will be in march a long ways away but worth coming out and doing so than you know part of the course. I know I will not be running with you. Way to fast for me.

Congrats Kelly. AMAZING job to complete a marathon, AGAIN. You are a great inspiration and you MUST be proud of yourself. And the third time will be a charm, I am guessing.

Onward and upward.

Karen
