I just had the RNY done on Nov 14th and i have been doing well. I have been drinking 2 Premier protein drinks each day, jello and water with my vitamins. This morning I wanted to try cream of wheat and I added 1 scoop of Cookies and Cream protein powder from Costco mistakenly instead of 1 tbsp. I kept adding ho****er until it got smooth. I ate about two tablespoons slowly and started feeling nauseous. Was it too soon to eat this?

Later, I decided to go with a friend to the grocery store to buy Apple sauce , cottage cheese 1% .These items are in the book .

Can anyone advise what the best protein powder is for later if I want to add it to soups, salads etc? And where do I buy it?

Hi there, it sounds like you're doing great!

I was never able to stomach the protein powders. What I added to soups, etc was skim milk powder. Lots of protein, thickens it, not too many calories. It might be something you want to check out.

No doubt others will chime in with suggestions for protein powders.

You can go to Bulk Barn and buy unflavoured whey protein powder that you could add to soups, stews etc. Just be careful not to add them to boiling soups because it will go lumpy. Best to add it to very warm soups. Bulk Barn also sells in bulk Chocolate Whey protein powder. You can add this to yogurt or smoothies, even oatmeal or cream of wheat. I have used it in making overnight oatmeal. The nice thing about buying from Bulk Barn is that you can buy just a little and see how it works for you.

I also couldn't (and still can't) do the flavoured protein. I used the GNC unflavoured whey protein. I added 1 scoop per serving of soup that I had.
