When did you get your energy back?

Hey all

Before I got surgery, my biggest hesitation was the concern that I lose my energy.
Despite being overweight, I always had a tonne of energy, got through my day no problem, full of beans when I got home at night, and only started getting tired in the late evening.

I am 3 months out as of tomorrow, and still getting really tired and drained much earlier and easier. Note: I am taking all my vitamins and supplements, getting lots of protein, and my bloodwork was just done a week ago and everything is looking good.. so I know it likely has more to do with the lower calories we consume this early on, as well as still recovering from surgery... so I am not too worried about WHY I feel this way.

But I am curious when I will feel full of **** and vinegar again :) Once we start getting more calories in? Years from now? Never? What is YOUR story about energy levels?

Thanks in advance and have a lovely long weekend!

Getting more fluids in helps with energy. Once you start exercising, that also helps a great deal. Don't worry about the calories at this point. The idea is to use your fat stores for energy right now. At 3 months, I was getting around 450 calories a day and exercising. The more weight I lost, the more energy I seemed to have. At 6 months out, I had hit the 100lbs. lost mark.

I agree with not worrying about getting more calories in. Listen to your body.

About the energy: I got energy after a few weeks, then ended up overdoing it. Ugh!! I was SO tired and even got sick, which was a bit depressing. I thought I was never going to feel myself again. After the three month mark, and with listening to my body, I finally got energy again... and boy, did I get energy!!

I feel better and more energetic than I did in years. Hang in there. It's coming!!

It took me a good 10-12 weeks before I got my energy back. I was wiped out all the time. Then, all of a sudden it changed and now I have more energy than I know what to do with.
