Update, finally without drains and back to normal.

After 2 WHOLE MONTHS I finally got my drains out. I have to say, getting a TT is not for sissies. I'm fairly happy with the results, although I feel like my upper thigh/hip area looks a little disproportionately big now - I am not inclined to do anything about it. I had to clean out a lot of my wardrobe, more than I expected, and I think I'm still going to have to have a lot of my new pants darted at the waist because even size 10's are too big in the waist, but I need them to fit my thighs. I'm not complaining.

If you're going to have drains and you have sensitive skin that hates tape, I now have plenty of tips for living with drains. Uncontrollable itchiness is the mother of invention.

For comparison, here's a pic from the day after I got my drains pulled (still slightly puffy, but not bad)

And here's a "before" picture in a dress I really wanted to look good on me but that did not due to all the extra skin I was carrying up front.

I can't believe it took that long for the drains to surrender!  Congratulations.  I'm sure you fell a whole lot better without the little alien babies following you everywhere you go.

You look fantastic.  Nothing wrong with having some hips, except for having to have pants altered to fit correctly.

Thanks for posting. I enjoyed your update.

I am scheduled for a Fluer de lis TT with lipo and BL at the end of April here in Utah. I am curious, were you a size 10 before surgery? I am a size 12 and hope to get down to an 8.  This ugly apron will be gone and my tummy muscles tightened.

You look fabulous.

Thanks,

No, I would say I was a 12, so I lost a full size. If not for my hips and butt, I might squeeze into an 8 in some things. I wouldn't be surprised if you get down to an 8.

Sometimes I wish I had gone with the fluer de lis because I do have some slack skin when I sit or bend over, but I know it will never be perfect no matter what. It's not like I'm planning to start wearing bikinis.

I had a LBL a month ago my surgeon said I wouldn't necessarily lose sizes, but would look better in them. So I was between a 10-12 jeans presurgical. ...now...larger 12's definitely too big, some smaller 12's still work, and some 10's I had bought and not worn yet, all work. At one month big portion of swelling is down, but he said it does continue to go down for months. So we will see.

He was right...even the things I wore before, look way better on me now... Good Luck!

Looking great!

I had my extended abdominoplasty in 2008 and came home with 4 drains. It was over a month until the last one came out. You are right....not for sissies. The location of said drains was the worst part.  Not pleasant at all...
