Everytime I eat carbs, crackers especially, I am bloated and gassy and my weight goes up...its like I cant eat any sort of grains or flour...am I alone here or are others especially sensitive to these foods?  Help.

I once landed in the ER a few hours after eating a soft pretzel (OMG, what was I thinking?).

IV Morphine, xray, CT scan and hours later, I was admitted to the hospital.  When I got up to walk to the restroom, I released the longest fart ever (20 seconds maybe - that's long!).  The pain went away.

Mortifying.

White carbs are very bloaty/gassy for me, and many others.

That sounds like me most of the time!  It makes me wonder if carbs have something to do with it...but then again I don't really eat white carbs. I will have to keep a close eye on it.

Refined carbs break down into simple sugars as they are digested. Internally, sugars feed the fermentation process, leading to gas and bloating.

Even now, 19 months out, I find that certain carbs cause a lot of gas. The simple solution is to avoid those foods....and I steer clear of the refined stuff anyway.

Gassiness is never pleasant!

I need to stay away from that.  or else. Not worth the pain, discomfort and the... smelly gas.  But then most complex carbs makes me like that too.
