83 Lbs down!
on September 8, 2010 5:45 pm
I cant believe it, I have lost 83 lbs!!!  That is alot of weight..this is all just amazing to me!  I could not have done this without this surgery.  God bless my surgeon for  being able to help people this way.  I am overwhemed with gratitude.  I love ya Dr. Swartz!!

My legs dont rub together anymore, I can cross my legs, sit indian style.  I can walk two miles without hurting, I can lean over and shave my legs, paint my toenails, walk my dogs, sit in a booth (thats a huge one for me!), go on roller coasters, wrap a bath towel all the way around me, the list is endless...I just feel so much better!

I am wearing a size XL/18 in most everything.   I havent worn that size in I dont know how long.  I have cute clothes now, not just what will fit me.  Its so wonderful to be able to wear pretty things and feel more girly.  I gave away 4 trash bags full of clothes from my closet, all stuff that was way to big.  I never want to see those sizes again, I never want to go back there...I want to be healthy and play with my new grandaughter and have fun in life.  Being fat wasnt fun, I didnt get to do fun things..because I was always out of breath or in pain or just plain unable...I thank god everyday for being blessed with this surgery.

59 Lbs down..
on July 5, 2010 8:50 am
Feeling great, have alot more energy.   When I go on my walks, I can walk faster and longer and my hips no longer hurt, that sure is a plus!  My friend Julie walks with me, she is also trying to lose weight so the more the merrier!  Seems like my weight loss is slow lately, I dont know why.  Last week I only lost 2 lbs and this week 4lbs.  I guess my honeymoon stage is different from other WLS patients, although I know everyone loses at different rates.  I am sticking to 1/4 cup of food per meal right now, my doctors handbook doesnt say what to do after 2 months so I kinda feel like I am "winging" it, I guess I will get more information at my appt on July 30th.  Thats all for now..

8 weeks post op

49 lbs down!!

Went to my new granddaughter to be baby shower this weekend in southern California.  Had a wonderful time seeing all our family!  We bbq'd twice, wonderful bbq chicken, tri tip and the next day hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, salads, fruit, chips, dip, salsa, beer...etc etc etc...then of course baby shower cake...which I only had a pinch of, but it sure was good!   I did get one good walk in over the weekend..wish it could have been more but we were doing so much running around and had to be "here"and "there" so much that I didnt get to do more, so I am amazed I lost another 5 lbs...woot woot!!  Next week I will hit the 50lb mark! YES!!

My Story

Hello everyone-

My name is Julianne and I am new to this website community.  I currently weigh in at 291, and have a BMI of 48.5 and am in the process of being pre-authorized for RNY surgery.  I am jumping through all the hoops, getting all the letters written and doing all the labs/xrays/procedures done...its alot of work!  I hope to get it all done by the end of this month  so they can start my authorization.  My
doctor is Daniel Swartz at advanced bariatric in Fresno, Ca.  I went to his seminar and was very pleased and excited after hearing about all the different procedures.   A coworker recommended him to me and she has had great success!  I look forward to reading about your journeys and hearing your amazing stories...we can do this!
