an experiment

 Hi all & happy Friday!
So I wanted to get some opinions on my little experiment. I start my 2-week liquid diet on the 29th and wanted to see if I could get thru a day with liquids before it's really critical. Did you all find warm liquids helped with the "I-need-solids-so-bad-it's-driving-me-batty" feelings? I made it to about 12p on just 2 protein drinks and a TON of crystal light but started to feel really hungry - then decided to have a cup of creamy broccoli soup (organic Imagine brand. Bit high on carbs but very liquidy). it helped! I'm feeling better and may be able to push thru the whole day. If not, I still have 3 more days of solids to enjoy. Have a tray of baby zucchini sitting in my fridge as a reward if I at least make it past 6p on liquids. Testing my willpower is really making me proud of myself! Off topic - tried a sample from Vitalady of a lemon iced tea flavor; not my favorite! Hoping Nectar pink grapefruit will be better.....

It may.. it may not... if I were you - I would not do that.
How about having liquids all day and the light dinner? salads, or veggies and proteins... with a little fat?
adding celery to warm soups makes for the crunch... We were allowed some "foods" on the liquid pre-op4 week diet...
When I try to do just liquids - the worst for me is always day 2. Day 1, no problem,, day 2- want to chew my arm off, day 3, it is hard, but doable.. and so on...

Well, made it to 1:30p and had a cheese stick. Just needed the solid protein but good to find out how my personal experience can be and good to know it's on par with others.
Just re-read my surgeon's handout and it really is ALL liquid, no solids at all for 2 weeks. Ah, at least it's only 2 weeks. Just goes to show that not everyone has the same protocol, even when the major points are adhered to.

My surgeon called for all iquids too, but jello counted.  I was not 100% perfect, I remember having onion soup with pieces of bread in it a few days before surgery.  I did the best I could and the surgeon said everything looked great.
(I did hear of one guy who didn't follow it at all.  The surgeon could tell but did the surgery anyway!)

I don't like the lemon tea flavored Nectar either, yuck.  I love lemon tea though.  So I make unsweet tea and add the lemonade Nectar too it.  Not great, but not horrible.

I don't know anything about testing to see if you can handle liquids.  My pre-op diet is a bit different.  I just wanted to post and say you can do it!  Those two weeks are going to fly by before we know it.
