How will you eat, 3, 5 years or more from WLS?

Today me and a load of other WLS bloggers are attempting to answer this question by all blogging our food together today.

The point of this exercise is mainly to show the ranges in how we approach our eating so that we all realize this is NOT a one-size-fits-all process.

So check out my eating so far today (with pics!) and get links to the other bloggers to see what's on their plates.

Happy Cinqo de Mayo!

I assume I will be pretty much eating the same way I do now. Occasional lapses, occasionally recording and tracking when necessary to get back on track. But this is for life.

Boiled quail eggs were the snacks of choice for last year's swim team. Cute litttle eggs!
Your day looked yummy.

I posted this on the main board also in response to MM's post and I have been checking out everyone's blogs .
Thank you all for blogging about your food intake and how eating styles and caloric intake can vary. I take a lot of flack for my eating style and my caloric intake. In my office there are 3 other women who have had gastric bypass surgery and based on what I eat they have accused me of being either bulimic or anorexic because no WLS patient could eat the way I do and still maintain their weight. I don't diet. I eat whatever I want in moderation.
I consume an average of 2500 calories a day. A typical day of food for me looks like this:

Starting at 6:00 am
Protein Coffee
Scrambled egg with cheese
Slice of multigrain toast with peanut butter
Protein shake
fage greek yogurt with fresh pineapple
edamame
roast chicken
gouda cheese
olives
green salad
2 pieces of dark chocolate
peanut butter and banana sandwich
steak
sweet potato
no sugar added ice cream or some other low sugar dessert
oatmeal or toast before bed at midnight.

I don't drive so I walk everywhere and ride the bus. Three times a week I go to either dance class or yoga and on the alternate days I lift weights.

Thank you for sharing a day of your eats. I don't feel like such a freak now when I see that it can vary a lot and I just happen to work with people who NEVER eat more than 1200-1500 calories a day.

Thanks for doing that. I looked at all the different blogs. What a treat.
Today is a weird food day for me. I am just not hungry and just keep drinking latte's and eating cheese sticks. Not a interesting or inspiring food day!
I'm inspired by all the fellow travelers.
Thanks

FWIW, I eat a lot the same way now (a couple of months away from 4 years out) that I did at a year out.  A little more volume, a few more "bad" carbs, a lot more fruit... but basically the same old stuff.

Maybe that's why eating sometimes is SOOOOOO boring, LOL.

I'm far less neurotic than I was at one year out.

But I think I needed year 2 to be this way. Because no matter what I ate, didn't eat, exercised, didn't exercise, the damn scale is where it is.

So now I'm sort of free. I don't eat a lot of crap food, but the occasional piece of bread doesn't faze me and instead of challenging myself to see how LITTLE I can eat, I now challenge myself to see how healthfully I can eat (and eat decent sized meals).

So yeah...I'm a lot different now but for the better I think.

That's it, exactly!  Plus, I have my one small treat every day.  Yesterday I had to settle for SF black cherry jello with some Lite Cool Whip (not much of a treat but my tummy is still pretty queasy from whatever this "bug" is)...
