Itching

Does/did anybody have a problem with itching AFTER surgery? Seems like I'm just itching, no rash, just plain ol' itching...

 How long ago did you have surgery.  I've had problems with itching after anesthesia.  With my last surgery it was either the epidural or the tape but I was miserable.  Try Benadryl.

Are you doing well with your fluids?? Could be extra dry skin from dehydration..... i say this from experience :(

I'm 2 months out and have been itching like crazy ever since! My surgeon took me off of the anti-gall stone meds "actigall" thinking that had to be the cause but I'm still itchy. (although it did help)
same as you, I have no rash or other physical indication- I just ITCH!

 I had a lot of itching in the few days after surgery.  My theory was that it was as a result to the anesthesia.  It was very irritating, but went away after about a week.

Just the first in a long line of fascinating things my body does now!

All pain meds make me itch like crazy, Acually brought my back scratcher to the hospital with me.The morphine is the worst but the liquid they have me on now for my back pain is almost as bad. I have spots on my feet and ankles that are raw from scratching

Thanks guys, I had surgery on 5/10, so I'm just over a wk out. ONLY take pain meds @ nite, but you could be right, I'm STILL scrubbing off that ''sticky" tape, lol
