Let's face it: BBQ season is coming. We must arm ourselves. Because we, too, deserve summer yumminess and while fruit salad and exotic Greek yogurt concoctions are tasty...there ain't nothin' like a good hot dog!

If you're interested in my picks for best dogs, check out Bariatric Foodie today! Then go make my WLS-friendly hot dog chili. I SWEAR your family won't be able to tell it's healthy!

Okay, in the realm of hot dogs, there are bad hot dogs, and really bad hot dogs....no hot dog can qualify as "healthy".  Does that mean I wont eat one?  Hell no!  If I want one, I'm having it!  I'm really more of a bratwurst girl though!!

Well "good for..." to me means won't completely derail your plan.

I personally just split a regular hot dog or sausage with my girls but the dogs I listed all tasted very good when grilled. The difference for me is price. Except for the Jennie-O one the others are a bit pricey.

But as long as it has my burn on it...I am good to go!

Yeah, you're new out. That's to be expected.

I envy you the burger. I still can't do them three years later. Something about ground meat held together just doesn't agree with Le Pouch...

Your blog cracks me up! I adore the way you write.

My vote is for Hebrew Nationals. It's the only hot dogs I buy, ever.

Good post!

I want a hot dog and I am not even going to lie!

I think about the scale though..will I probably have one..I will likely eat a half of one.

I must admit that I have been dodging food left and right. My kids and I baked a cake about a day or two ago. It took everything in my might not to like a spoon, bowl or anything.

Crazy!

I am thinking hot dog as Memorial Day is coming up and lord knows I can't think about ribs.

LOL!

Have a great day!

The most caloric hot dog I posted waas 70 calories. Most were nearly fat free. Go have a hot dog!

The chili is very reasonable on the calories and high in protein. Eat it sans bun (as I did) and you get to have your hot dog AND eat it too.

Food is not torture. :)

If you want the "bun" use 1/2  deli flat.  Works well and tastes good.  For hot dogs I personally like ball park fat free beef and smoked turkey hot dogs.
