A little advice please
Going on a 10 hour trip to Fort Bragg this weekend and need some ideas for portable, non-refrigerated meal/snack ideas. I know the jerky thing, but that's alot of sodium and I mix my protein shakes with milk. I'll definitely be getting some RTD shakes for the cooler. I'll be gone for 4 days. Thanks.
I just did a trip for three days and brought:
-3 oz cans of flavoured tuna, easy open packs (Cloverleaf makes all kinds of flavors these days)
-an equivalent number of porions multigrain melba canape to spread it on (less cals, better ingredients than the ritz like crackers included in tuna snack packs)
-mini light babybels
-Cheese strings
-a six pack of little source yogurts, froxen (they keep things cool the first day and last to the second day as they thaw
-powdered skim milk (to mix my coffee protein in the morning with my aerolatte)
-syntrax nectar cappuchino (for protein coffee)
-syntrax nectar iced tea
-chicken jerky
-snack pack sugar free pre-made pudding
-pure protein bars in peanut butter and chcolate deluxe
-individual 1 oz portioned packages of flavoured almonds
-many crystal light (travelling tends to get me dehydrated)
If I had needed it, I could have survived just on this list within guidleines for the three days. I always knew I had a good option with me. I didn't use it all as I went to restaruants and there were other good choices available at times.
Good luck!
