Hi I am 13 months post op and my NUT told me to start adding complex carbs to my diet. I have been around 1200-1300 cals a day and 149 carbs a day. How many should we have?

My doc said 45 per day and he said "good carbs" so I've stuck around that number ever since.

I try to stick to about 45 a day as well. If I eat lots of carbs, I feel icky and don't lose either.

wow! Thats not much considering an apple has 20 carbs. Maybe that is why I have gained 4 pounds!

i found I lost better having the same calories, around 800-1000 with 30 or less carbs than I did with the same calories and higher carbs.  I don't have any white carbs, sugar, flour, potatoes, rice, pasta.  But do eat veggies 3 times a day, at least.

I don't pay *too* close of attention to carbs.  I mean, I don't eat refined/processed carbs with the exception of the occastional bite of something sweet.  However, I just now looked on my Fitness Pal and it looks like I average about 60 per day.  Some days were as low as 30 and some days as much as 80.  Fitness Pal recommeds 140-something.  I NEVER go that high.
