GOAL!!!!!
I'm so excited. Today I hit my goal weight, just one week shy of my surgiversary. I've lost 130#, went from size 22/24s and 3Xs to 4s and mediums - in some cases smalls. A year ago today, I was grumpy about the pre-op diet, wondering if I would be successful or if this was going to be just another failed attempt to lose all the weight.
My goals were things like being able to fit comfortably in airplane seats, to be able to work out without fearing a heart attack, going on more walks & bike rides with my hubby. Today I'm blown away by what I'm able to accomplish. When I go to support group meetings, I take 3 flights of steps in the parking garage, walk across the bridge and then take 6 flights of steps and can still breathe at the top. We go on 35 mile bike rides, sometimes in 95 degree heat; I'm the one who wants to keep going and my hubby wants to stop. I'm working with a trainer who hands me 25# kettle bells, when if left to my own devices I would only pick up 5# - and I can do it.
So much of this journey has become testing my limits and seeing how much more I can do - and I'm always pleasantly surprised. To those of you just starting the process, YOU CAN DO IT! I was fortunate, the entire journey was very easy for me, no complications, lots of support. Not everyone will have an easy path - but never lose faith.
Hugs to all!
