I had my EGD done Friday. Dr. took a biopsy of stomach bacteria. Is this anything that could postpone my surgery? Dr. said we should have the results Mon. or Tues. My surgery is Dec. 27. Thanks, gail
If you have H. pylori bacteria in your stomach it needs to be treated with a course of PPIs and antibiotics. That bacteria makes you mor eprone to ulcers, so your surgeon will want it gone before he cuts you.

You should be fine I have it and couldnt treat it bc they found it 2 days before surgery .. I still got my surgery and doing good no stomach problems at all good luck
I had my surgery just found out i have h pylori and i just got some meds and now im good they jsut did another biopsy last friday so i will find out teh results on the 19th to see if it is gone or what not.
