Realistic Goals: Losing Weight
I'm going to start with the requisite "Everyone loses at their own pace" disclaimer. Plus, the higher your starting weight, the quicker the weight will drop off initially.
Now that I've said that, I can appreciate wanting to see what others are experiencing and then adjusting your expectations based on your personal situation.
I am 6 months out, but my loss is pretty average, from what I've seen.
My weight on the day of surgery was 254.
At one month out, I was down 22 pounds.
At three months out I was down 47 pounds.
At six months out I am down 71 pounds.
Hope this helps! Good luck to you! See you on the loser's bench!

I honestly don't know what I lost at each month marker you have requested.
I do know this. Setting mini goals is a great idea.
My surgery was 12/30/10. By summer I watned to be down 100 lbs. And low and behold by the end of June I was.
Then I started thinking about once that was gone, where did I want to go next. I had the weight of 185 in my mind. That was still in the overweight catagory with the BMI charts. Well I have hit that mark and passed it by 2 lbs and I am not at a year yet. So now for me as I look ahead 170 looks really doable.
I am very happy with where I am at so if I don't make that goal of 170, I am more than OK with it.
So long story short, make small goals and acheive them. Before you know it all the weight you want gone is gone!
Good luck!
Sarah

Below are my stats for my journey. As far as a goal, I have not set an actual goal as I generally know where i should be for age and height and body build.....but I have decided that I am going to listen to my body and let it decide where it should be (within reason....meaning I am going to work my tool like a rock star and see where I land....and not beat myself up for where land) Please don't be married to a number and be nice to your body.
