Kelly?
It is imperitive that everyone take 1000mcg of sublingual B12 daily or monthly injection to start and then they can adjust after that - there is absolutely no risk by taking too much of B12 but not taking enough B12 you can get nerve damage and left too long it can become permanent.
By not taking any B12, you are really putting yourself at risk? May I ask why you arent taking any at all? You cant absorb the B12 in your multi? By 8months out, you are almost sure to have totally used up any storage and I bet when you get your labs done, you will be less than 500 which is at risk for nerve damage - we need optimal B12 levels between 1200-1800, and if they go over 2000, you just pee out the excess.
as far as your vitamin D - if you went from 22 to 205 in 6 weeks, then you most probably taking it daily which is way too much and not what we are supposed to be taking. IF you had a level of 22, you should have been taking it 2 times per week and get it rechecked at 2 months and then adjust from there. I see too much when people take it daily to have such high levels but when you cut it drastically, you will end up back at 22. when you got to 100, you were perfect but by continuing to not take it, you are just further plummeting your level. You should have gone back on it but only once per week to atleast try to maintain - I bet now you are going to end up really low and you are going to be like a yoyo.
so, does this mean you arent taking any iron either? vitamin B1? when you get your labs done, please make sure you get a PTH level with your cacium and vitamin D - this is a total package that determines your bone health. and at 1 year, you need a DEXA scan

the ASMBS recommends all RNY patients take B12. They do not recommend having labs done first.

4 citrical Petites is NOT enough calcium. You need 1500-2000mg per day and TWO Petites are only 400mg... So you are currently only getting HALF of what you need.
Also, why are you taking two doses of B12? What dosage are they?

this old lady is confused... :) So you take one B12 and two B complex?
your multi probably has calcium carbonate which we don't absorb, so we shouldn't count.
i take 3 calcium petites 3 times a day and usually an upcal d or calcet creamy bite at night for another 500.
