Whats up with this. I'm about 9 weeks out and down 35 pounds. The area around my bum and tailbone hurts so much that it is difficult to sit down or get on my recumbent bicycle. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to help it. When does it get better?

It is part of life for me!

When sitting in my desk chair at home I fold a pillow up so I can sit on it but my tailbone hangs over the pillow.  Since one of the wonderful side affects we get to live with is the volumes of gas we enjoy releasing from our butt I always make sure it is never my pillow but rather my wifes or one of my kids!

Thanks Paul. I, too, have been blessed with that little side effect from the surgery. Great idea about using someone else's pillow. I think I'll use my DH pillow. Maybe I can get back at him for all the years I have had to endure his efforts towards global warming...LOL

Caution while trying to get revenge for previous violations of poisunous gas usage.  Men are very effective in the use of the dutch oven!

One of the benefits of having to use CPAP is that it is kryptonite to his dutch oven. All of my air is filtered. Let the games begin!!

Yep, it is a problem.  I assume because of no padding around the tailbone like you used to have.  Mine was really painful, and it got better about 7 months out.  False alarm - I am now 9 months out, and the pain is back.

I have to use a pillow in my car.  Sitting in the movie theatre the other night was agony.

So I am hoping it goes away again.

This has become a major problem for me also.  I can only sit for awhile and have to get up.  I have tried alot of different pillows but nothing has worked.  I went onto Amazon to look for pillows for all kinds of problems.  I'll let you know if I ever find the magic pillow.

I can relate. I figured it was because of less padding around my tailbone but I haven't lost that much weight yet. This is so bad that sitting up is just about out of the question. If I am on the couch, I am most likely in a reclining position on my side. I feel like I am getting a bedsore. At least I have a wonderful hubby who will give me bum rubs when I ask for them. I do hope you feel better soon as this is miserable.
