I am 5 weeks out tomorrow and I am dying to know when these crazy hormones will subside.  I already take an antianxiety/depression pill but I am really pushing the envelope at work.  Please tell me it ends soon, when did you all stop feeling like the gremlin in the room and returned to feeling yourself?

I stopped being a royal PITA at between 5 and 6 weeks. Talk about an emotional roller coaster! Whew I'm glad that's over!

We had surgery about the same time!  :)

I also take an anti-anxiety/anti-depressant, but for the first little while, I really had to take my "as needed" as well as my once daily.  I'm not saying that more medication is always the answer, but lady-friend, I recommend calling your PCP or surgeon and getting a script for something you can take as needed.  You may not even want to take it but just knowing it's there can do a world of help.  But "gremlin" doesn't sound like you're happy and comfortable so it may be just what you need to get over the hump.

The good news is I have gotten over (most) of my mood swings so hopefully, it is not far off for you, either!

Oh, I remember those days. I didn't end up taking an extra med but I considered it. I was nutty, tired, extra grumpy and sore(had my gallbladder out two months after my RnY and it hurt).

But as Anna said, one day I woke up and felt fine.

So I don't have any useful advice, but I hope you're feeling better soon.

It took me about 3 months to get close to normal (even with antidepressants)...

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
