hi yall, i am making a list of things for my hubby to go to the store and get and my papers say, that baby food is on my approved foods-but its optional.
i am not completely grossed out at the thought of baby food, just wondering if anyone had a fav or does this include meats, or just any suggestions?

Honestly? I didn't even feed my children baby food - I cooked my own from scratch. Baby food is pretty crap nutritionally for a baby so what will it do for an adult who needs a protein forward diet?

There are many protein food options for us that are simple to prepare, cheap and much better for us!

heheh.. ok, well im only 4 days post op, so i have to keep it small and very soft, so i thought i would see if it was liked :)

i can have anything M&M lol.. noo not that kind of m&ms-- moist and mushy as long as it stays under a certain amount of sugars..

i havnt actually been hungry yet, but per my drs orders tolerated goldfish crackers just fine last night as my first solid food in 6.5 days.
Do yall have any foods that fall within my stage acceptable foods, that yall have experiemented with?

high protein dessert......greek yogurt, mixed with SF jello pudding like cheesecake, SF sweetener, I use Truvia, cinnamon, and a splash of vanilla extract......grind up SF vanilla wafers and you have cheesecake.

I admit, I only loved Gerbers baby applesauce stage 1...I love the smoothness.....however post-op I only wanted pain meds, SF popsicles and some cream soup...

Invest in a good puree machine like a bullet or ninja and you can take baked chicken breast with a lil low sodium broth and your favorite spices and puree for homemade babyfood that is easy on the pouch.

Protein drinks, SF jello pudding to mix extra protein in and I even pureed some Wendy's chili.....I love Wendy's chili........I have even seen Paula Deen take shrimp, light mayo, spices, and puree for a seafood salad.

chicken, shrimp, greek yogurt=  high protein...mix it up so you won't get bored but I miss your stage because you are rarely hungry....Good luck!

I bought 4 jars of it, ate 1 jar of peaches, gave away 2 jars to my step-daughter and there's still one sitting in fridge. So, no don't bother.

Sadly, I was a bad puree eater. Hahaha. I could not stand the mush.

I know some people blend tuna with some light mayo, or canned chicken with mayo.  Refried beans with a little bit of cheese works too, Soup, Chili puree'd.

I did a combo of puree and soft foods cause i couldn't handle the puree's and I did fine. But since I'm no doctor stick with your plan as much as you can.

I didn't try baby food.

oh thats a good idea about the tuna and mayo/ chicken.. kinda like tuna salad, and i can have saltine crackers.. so that sounds delish!

i have been craving shrimp quesadillas with some hot sauce since my pre op liquid diet. i know i cant have the tortilla, but the shrimp and cheese sure sounds good.. oh and the hot sauce. can i have a really thin hot sauce to dip my foods in?

Yeah dice up the shrimp and put some cheese on it - go light on the hot sauce.

Not sure about you but my tastebudes have changed a lot.

I used to LOVE hot spicy foods and now things are extremely spicy were they weren't before.

I also bought some protein pudding at Vitamin Shoppe - it's not bad actually.

Oh - I also ate cottage cheese, yogurt.

If you can eat crackers - I had melted cheese on crackers - 2 fill me up.
