How is this even possible????

 My surgery is Tuesday and I have been on the pre op diet for almost 2 weeks. My surgeon has you eat 6 protein supplements a day (shakes, bats, etc). When I went by their office on Monday their scale said I have lost 10 pounds but yesterday I tried to put on my jeans and they wouldn't even zip. Now I admi I have strayed a couple times from the diet, but nothing horrible (no fast food, etc) and even so I have been STARVING for almost 2 weeks!!! I just don't get it and I want to cry!!  I am scared I will get to the hospital on Tuesday and they will refuse to do the surgery. What could be going on?????

bloating due to menstruation?

 I thought abt that, because it is that time of the month, but I've never noticed it before...can you bloat that much?

They won't deny you the surgery!!
My doc asked if I lost weight for him , as I was all hooked up ready to go into surgery and I said sure did....well I DIDN'T...I tried to tell them the liquid diet they had me on was more cals than I normally ate.
If you are at the hospital , and hooked up to the IV , they are not going to stop a money making surgery UNLESS they felt something was undo danger to you

My surgeon has turned people away if they are a pound over goal weight but I think that is because we didn't have to do the pre op liquid diet.  I've been told that you can gain 5-7lbs during menstration.  If its been hot that can make you bloat.  Maybe you had a little too much salt???  It could be anything.  I wouldn't worry too much.  Do you have to loose a certain amount before surgery?

My friend gained weight on the pre-op diet. She really needed to lose it.

The nurse was a total ***** to her about it.

The doctor still did the surgery.
