Dumping and depression- what a lovely combo......NOT!!!
I am 6 weeks out and can eat some meats. For the past week, I have been dumping a lot. Mostly chicken, turkey, and tuna. I am eating like 1 to 2 oz and chewing like a thousand times and when I have something to drink 1 hour later, EXORCIST MOMENT!!. I guess i' going back on baby food and soup. ITS STARTING TO GET TO ME. I'm not cheating at all. I did NOT go through this to go backwards. I feel the food that I can have, I can't. Its depressing. Also I am dehydrated. A great added bonus
any suggestions?
ps to add insult to injury, i lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks

You will NOT dump on protein, nor will you vomit! Dumping is the reaction we get from carbs or fat hitting the intestine without being digested. I can assure you YOU ARE NOT DUMPING!
What you are probably experiencing is your pouch not tolerating these dense proteins - if you then drink on top of them, vomit ensues ...
Why not try some less dense proteins for the moment and start to add in VERY MOIST dense proteins a little at a time - dryness is often the reason we vomit after eating them - they sit like a brick on our pouch and then any fluid on top just makes us
If you feel you are dehydated - it is important that you address THIS long before you ever worry about your protein intake - more people end up in the ER for dehydration than do for protein deficiency (which takes months btw)

AFTER you address the dehydration issue , can you try some nice costo canned chicken with hard boiled egg , onion , dill pickle relish and mixed with FAGE 0% yogurt ? it is very moist and lots of protein
Sounds like you need to take care of the big issue and then start working on new ways to get in protein.
Also Refried beans w/ a bit of cheese and costco canned roast beef ( or moist hamburger) with salsa and topped with FAGE 0% yogurt ( as sour cream)
Dehydration is very serious and needs to be taken care of !!!
Best wishes

It would be very unlikely to dump on meat since you probably aren't putting much sugar on your meat. What you're describing sounds like it might be a stricture. You need to call your surgeon today.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
