Having a hard time with plain water

I've noticed that I'm having a hard time with plain water since surgery. It doesn't matter if it's cold, room temperature or hot--if it's plain, I get a bit nauseous. I've been drinking a lot more Crystal Light and herbal tea, but I'd like to be able to drink just plain ol' water. Anyone have this problem post-op? How long did it last?

I am a year out and have just started being able to drink plain water again.  I am not sure what happens to us that makes this a problem...and it is ironic since we have to get our fluids.  Makes for a challenge. It will go away promise.

I'm almost 13 months out and water STILL makes me feel sick for a few minutes. I keep trying though. Most days I can only get in 4-6 cups per day .

I have the same problem with water. I make sure I add crystal light and look forward to the day I can drink it plain again.

I can only drink about 2 ounces before it makes me nauseous. My surgeon's office said this is very common with RNY patients.

I have been living off of decaf Iced coffee for a few weeks.  Water hurts on the way down until it leaves the pouch.  Even with crystal light, it still leaves me with a sick feeling. Thank god for decaf iced coffee. It does not hurt and does not make me nauseated. Very strange, I think.

I've had that same problem with plain water for years and I've only just now had my surgery. I've been using either crystal light or those Proti drink mixes to help with it.

Yeah, me too.  I use a lot of Mio.  I was worried that the lid would come off and get concentrated liquid all over my knitting bag, but it's tight and you have to squeeze kind of hard to get the liquid to come out.
