Hey guys, I have a question that I think may have an obvious answer. Many of the posts I read mention the "foamies". I had never heard this term but it doesn't sound pleasant. Could someone please tell me what this is and is it something all WLS patients get?

It happens when you eat too fast, or too much or if you do not chew your food well enough.  it will usualy go away in about 1/2 hour or so or if you throw up.For me if is a pain under my breastbone, hiccups and then my mouth begins to salivate with lots of foam.  it hurts and it sucks a lot.  try to avoid it,  but I think it is part of the learning process.  It happened to me when I was getting a little to comfortable with food and is a good reminder to follow the rules of your pouch.

Thank you. That explains a lot and is kinda concerning. So, it sounds as if the key to avoiding this is strict attention to detail and a good learning curve.
