depressed about thanksgiving
Look at how far you have come! I understand what you mean, but I try not to think about it and now I can walk without crying from knee pain my life is better than a piece of pie. I am cooking a turkey, but we will have tons left over since I can only have a few bites.. Try to move beyond this and consider how you are taking care of yourself.. Hang in there!
Laurie :-)
I wish we didn't have so much food here I don't want it all, did eat a small amount for lunch, 3 reasonable bites of dessert and seeing what is still here makes me nauseated. Just way too much.

All you can eat is cheese and crackers? What does your surgeon think is causing that? You must be eating a ton of cheese to get enough protein in.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I can eat a few other things, but not much. As for protein I know I'm not getting in enough, when I drink protein shakes I throw them up, I can eat very little meat without getting sick. I do try to eat other things and I'm careful to chew until it's baby food consistency. I'm planning on talking to a nutritionist this week to see what their ideas are or any other suggestions.
Get out of the bathroom and socialize!! Try not to make food such an important thing in get-to-gethers. Play board games, chat with family, take pictures, and HAVE FUN. If your stomach is sensitive- take food that you can eat- eat while everyone else is eating. You should not be alone crying in the bathroom on such a thankful holiday. Be thankful for everything in your life- that you have family to spend the holiday's with. I would definately call your doc, nut, and therapist- talk to them on why you are so sensitive- they might have an idea what to try.
Have very small protions and chew food slowly eating with your family. You'll feel much better. Just concentrate on chewing well, and taking small portions. Learning to eat with family on holidays can be a difficult challenge--our lives have centered around meals all of our lives. DAVE

Seriously? I am dumbstruck that on Thanksgiving, the one day where we reflect on all those things we have to be grateful for, that you're behaving so poorly.
Please dry your tears and remember all the things you have to be grateful for.
Remember that there are a large number of people on here who would love to be able to have the surgery you received, yet they'll never have it...
You also have a family who is sharing Thanksgiving dinner, do you know how many people don't have that?
Please get out of your head and back into you heart, and you'll likely rediscover the joy of the holiday.
Sending you a warm Thanksgiving hug....
