Anyone tried this Dr. Oz miracle? Rachael Ray lost 27 lbs. in one month and went down 4 dress sizes when she allegedly tested it. Any thoughts?

If it really worked there would be no more obesity.

Maybe it works short term for those with "normal" insides... don't know if it'd work for those who've had RNY...

I just a quick google search and learned that it may help some people if diet and exercise can be a part of the plan. There's even some science behind it but guess what? Just like Atkins and high protein diets, it may help some people to lose weight but that doesn't mean it will stay off. I failed at every diet there was (I ate little protein because of a distaste for meat in general) and never lost more than 5-10 pounds. Most people dieting lose a chunk and then gain it back. When I had such success with the protein pre-op dieting (30 lbs down) I told my doctor that maybe I could actually diet it off for once since I discovered the power of a high protein diet. He said one thing that put it into perspective, "The statistics show that only a tiny percentage of those who lose it keep it off. It will likely come back." I consented to RNY right then and there and was scheduled for surgery 10 days later.

Stop watching Dr Oz! He is not looking out for our health, he is looking for ratings to make himself richer! Do you realize he promotes all sorts of weight loss schemes on a daily basis and the overweight and obese people who watch his show are being given false hope. Only one truly successful way to lose weight...be in touch with your emotional triggers and eat foods with nutritional value. If able, exercise or move around as much as possible. You need to take in less calories than it takes to maintain your current weight. No miracle cure is out there, not even weight loss surgery. RNY and other surgeries are only a tool. It all comes down to YOU and the effort YOU are willing to put in to be successful in your life.
