Scale Victory and question about consumption?
So, since life is basically "back to normal" for me and my family, I really haven't been on the boards much. I still occasionally browse but rarely post now. I'm trying to stick to good habits and getting my protein in, just like everyone else does :)
I reached a milestone today however, and thought I'd make a new post, especially for 2013. I finally got below the 200 mark. Scale reads 199.8 this morning.
My BMI still reads at a 27, but for me it's a huge milestone. I haven't been below 200 since the military, and even then, I was still over 200 for most of my time in.
For those curious, I had surgery on 6/12/12, so just over 7 months, which is putting me 18lbs away from goal. I don't excerise regularly, but I do use a fitbit and try to reach 10,000 steps each day, and I average about 30 flights UP stairs each day.
Last thing... our nutritionist has us shooting for 3oz of solid protein by 6 months out. I've been eating what I believe to be 3oz at a time (sometimes more) and decided to weigh out some left over rotisserie chicken that I made. 3oz is A LOT of meat, and I could only eat about half in one sitting. How do y'all do it?
As you get farther out you will be able to eat more so you will get in protein more easily. I still cannot eat a lot of tuna for example. But that's okay.
I eat 5-6 times a day so I get plenty of protein. I average about 90 grams a day.
Also I can eat more soft protein than solid.
How is your wife doing?
I fight badgers with spoons.
