Feb. 13th!!

Hi all,

I'm having my gastric bypass surgery on the 13th. I'm overjoyed, but also pretty nervous.

Any advice for my hospital stay and first week??

Hey congratulations.   I have been out for about 5 months now and am doing great. Don't be nervous or anything you're going to do fine. Bring you're phone or laptop or whatever with you cuz you will be bored afterwards lol. If you're like me you won't sleep much but my iPad was my saving grace. The first week you will have to take it easy and just make sure to walk as much as you can. Although it will be uncomfortable it's the best thing for you. You will have good days and bad days but I can guarantee you four or five months out and you will say its the best decision you have ever made. Hope to to ttys take care :)

I can't wait until Wednesday either.  Right now I'm cleaning house and catching up on laundry...this is just like when I had a baby..lol

I just got home today and I used the following:

my phone and charger

my chapstick

my robe and slippers

I took a toothbrush, but the hospital gave me one and I used theirs.

my hair brush (I have long hair and did not want it to get tangled).

My vision was to blurry to read - so my Kindle was useless.

Same advice as Sherri P.  good luck!  I'm coming to the end of my first week post op and taking it one day at a time!
