BCBS Medicare

Does anyone have BCBS medicare and if so how was your experience with them dealing with authorization for WLS? How long did it take for a decision for authorization?

I am post-op 8yrs. BCBS CLEARED ME in 3 days.

I am pre-op for surgery in two weeks. BCBS Medicare cleared me 3 days after my paperwork was submitted.

I have BCBS Medicare. I was about to ask the same question on here. I don't see my doctor until March 25th. Then he will submit paperwork and we will see what happens. I hope we both are fortunate enough for it to go through.

I have been waiting since Feb. 12. My last weigh in was January 22. I had to do 6 months of supervised diet and weigh ins. I am just getting so depressed about it!! I am going to my pcp tomorrow just as a just in case measure. This will be my 7th weigh in, but i was only required to do 6. I just feel like the longer I have to wait, the more it will be a denial. I'm just not sure of what the hold up is.

BTW I have been going through all the appointments, psych dr, endoscopy, every lab test, and all my weigh ins since june/july of last year.
