Im so confused and I must be eating too fast, I have no problems with yogurt or refried beans, today i had cottage cheese and maybe i ate it too fast and got the horrible pain in my chest and back, I drank some hot tea which helped. how lond should i wait between bites? IM drinking fine, can eating anything that slips down, but my next phase is soft foods and Im pretty nervous, i feel like I chew it to nothing,

thanks

At first I chewed everything up to twenty times. It would take me at least 20 minutes to eat my meal.

How long since surgery?  Cottage cheese is a little more complex than retried beans but so good for you!  Take your time chewing it into the consistency of refried beans.  Good luck!

That early out, you are going to have to eat annoyingly slow and annoyingly small bites and chew until there is basically no flavor left. But it does get easier and more normal as time goes on. You stomach is still healing and your body is getting used to this new thing so be patient. I had many uncomfortable moments the first couple months but felt like I turned a corner towards much more normal around 8 weeks. Hang in there.

I pureed my cottage cheese until I was about 4-6 weeks out just to make it easier on my pouch.

If it takes me less than 30-40 minutes to eat, I'm in trouble...PAIN trouble!

And make sure you're not drinking with your meal. I accidently did it and man, did I pay for it!

I will care for my body so that I can feel the pleasure of being fit & fully alive as I grow older.

I get that really bad pain in my chest when I swallow (most) foods but it's not from surgery, since I haven't had surgery yet lol. Mine's from a Hiatal Hernia.
