Just had surgery

Four days ago I had my surgery. (Wednesday 3/20). Home now and discovering what the challenges are (my bed is too high, toilet too low HA!). But I feel GREAT! If anyone out there is about to have your surgery and has any questions, this is all fresh in my mind and maybe I can be of a little help. What an amazing journey and it makes me cry to think of all the amazing people who have been so wonderful and supportive.

I installed a toilet seat riser and am using my recliner.

Great idea!!! I'm using an old crutch to pull myself up but what you are doing is much better.

DO you have nausea? How is the energy level?

I haven't had any nausea and so far my energy level is pretty good.

I have my laparscopic RNY this coming Friday. Did it hurt when they removed the catheter and how soon were you able to get up and walk?

They'll probably remove the catheter before you come round - if not, and it hurts, they're doing it wrong!!!!

I was up and walking pretty much as soon as I got into my room ... and I walked, and walked, and walked.   It helped with the discomfort and the gas and I was determined to make this work from the get-go!   Lying in bed and resting or bemoaning how much everything hurt was not an option for me ...   I'm a suck it up kinda gal!

Hey, Kim ya we are the suck it up, put on our our big girl panties and get on our rainbow unicorns and ride em' !!!!!
