I'm 33 days post op. When did you guys eat rice or bread? My plan says I can have toast.

My plan says that too, but I didn't have rice til a year out. It sat very heavy on my pouch. I haven't really had any since. Bread I don't really touch. I had a bite of pizza once, but I didn't really like it. I try to avoid simple carbs.

I eat rice occasionally and not very much of it because it does sit heavy in my pouch, very heavy. I will also eat a half of a sandwich for lunch with low carb wheat. And for breakfast I will have half of a whole wheat English muffin or a piece of toast, along with my egg beaters.

I am seven months out and have not eaten rice or bread. Those are the things that helped me gain all my weight so I intend to stay away from them now. I don't want to take up the small space in my pouch with white carbs.

I can eat small amounts of rice but its too filling for any more than that. And I feel like it keeps expanding once its in my tummy so its really uncomfortable if I overdo it. I probably tried it at a few months out and how it feels to eat it hasn't changed much since I first tried it.

Bread was really tricky for me until recently (I am 9 months out). I could eat toast and breads of certain textures in very small amounts. But "doughy" breads, including plain flour tortillas, sat heavy in my pouch for a long time. I still can't eat very much of them comfortably and its typically not even worth it to me. I eat very little bread, especially compared to pre-op!

Thanks breamos21. I've been jacking me some grits up. Maybe I need to switch to oatmeal. This could be why I'm losing so slow.
