Is it possible that my Mirena is slowing down my weight loss process? I'm 5 weeks out and my scale is no longer moving. I'm am so discouraged. Any insight would be appreciated.

Well, I've had a Mirena since November 2011 and it's had no effect on my weight whatsoever.    Put the word "stall" into the search facility at the top of he page and I'll bet you'll have hundreds of threads to read on the scale not moving.

It's a normal part of a weight loss journey.

The Mirena is pretty low-dose hormone-wise. That was partially why my doctor recommended it for me. I've had it for a year now and have lost a good deal of weight without more effort than the normal watching calories / getting exercise deal. I certainly stall out like anyone else does from time to time. That said, it's different for everyone, especially if you're taking any other medications.

Also, a stall early on in your weight loss journey is entirely normal. Stick to your plan and you'll do great!
