NEED VEGETARIAN IDEAS!

Hi everyone....I've been driving many people on here mad for some time ...LOL....going back & forth w/recipes...am I eating meat? Am I not? Am I committed to becoming a vegan? Am I not? Well my decision is this......I have decided to consume fat free/reduced fat dairy, yogurt, cheese, etc.... I'm also  consuming  eggs. As far as everything else....I'm not eating red meat, pork, or poultry ( I haven't for about 2 years)......I however will eat scallops. My reason for this rant is this....I just hit my 4 year surgiversary  on 4/13, and have done quite well, but now it's to the point that my appetite is increasing and I'm able to keep down more food, which makes me think I'm eating  things that go down too easy (oatmeal, cereal, etc...). Long story short......does anyone have a link for vegetarian RNY  recipes?  Thanks for taking the time to read this! XO

I have a few vegetarian friendly recipes that might be of use to you. May I ask why you would choose fat-free cheeses? You cannot digest the calcium in cheese without some fat, so I'd lean toward ones that are only partially skimmed. Personally, I eat full-fat cheese because I eat so little of it, but I know some folks are more sensitive to fat causing queasiness.

As Neen said, we need a certain amount of fat in our diets to absorb vitamins, satiate our appetites and to aid digestion.   Low fat diets have been pretty much poo poo'd as ineffective and most dieticians will advocate low carb over low fat.

I find that at 9 years out, I still malabsorb fats, and so have no problem having full fat cheese, yoghurt, etc in the quantities that I eat ...   You will often find that fat free or reduced fat foods have high carb (particularly) contents - the taste has to come from somewhere!!!

You will need to eat beans and pulses to supplement your protein needs and to this end, for a vegetarian,  the carbs are a necessity.
