3weeks out...did my first stupid thing.

I made cheesesteak stuffed peppers for dinner. I planned on using shredded chicken instead of steak but couldn't find it. So steak it was. Had a small half of a pepper with 1.5 oz meat. Learned quickly my pouch does not like steak. Then I felt an all too familiar feeling. Years ago I had to get my esophageal sphincter dialated because food got stuck r/t acid reflux. I THOUGHT I chewed really really well but guess one bite wasn't chewed good enough. It was stuck. I was able to vomit it up, along with tons of nasty phlegm, and I'm more comfortable. My pouch still isn't happy with me for the steak though. Lesson learned.

That sounds like a bit much for only 3 weeks out!!!  I can't do beef and I"m 6 months out.  It just does not sit well with me!

I did okay with hamburg so I thought shaved steak would be ok if I chewed really really well. Wrong!

I'm 3 weeks out and did the same thing with chicken this week.  You live, learn, and try again later.

Beef is the last meat I tried. I was probably about 3 months out before I tried it. It's still one that I am weary of. I take small bites and chew, chew, and chew. Takes me a long time to get 3 oz down.

3 weeks out I was still on pureed foods - no steak at all.  I was able to start on soft foods at the beginning of my 4th week and then after the first month I could try one new food at a time.  Try to slow down a bit.  It may help.

I think I was 6-7 months out before I could tolerate beef.

My Dr. allows ground beef at about a month out. My pouch does NOT like beef at all. I have tried it a few times and it has made me sick every time.
