labs to be run
I have been searching for a post I know I've seen that provides a link to the ASMBS recommendations for labs that should be run at 6 months and can't find it. I want to bring the list with me when I see my Dr next week and double check what labs he is planning on requesting for me. Could someone post this link so i can find it? I've tried their web site and can't figure out where it is there either.
Thanks!
Here is the list of labs I get done.
CMP
Lipid Profile
CBC with differential
B12
Bili-direct
Ferritin
Iron/TIBC
PTH
Magnesium
Folate
Thiamine (B1)
B6
Vitamin E
Vitamin K
Uric Acid
Vitamin A
Vitamin D (25 hydroxy)
Zinc
Phosphorus
Copper
Selenium
Prealbumin
The ASMBS does not recommend all of these, some of them they say don't need to be run unless you have symptoms of deficency, but I personally prefer to know if there is a problem before I get so low I have symptoms.
Here is the link to their latest update. They discuss vitamins and labs in it. http://www.meltingmama.net/files/asmbstos2013guidelines.pdf
