NSV and Question about Pain
1. At work today, a coworker who didn't know I'd had surgery noticed I'd lost some weight. It was the first time someone "not in the know" had commented on how I looked and it felt great!
2. I'm noticing that in the mornings especially, when I take my first couple sips of water, I'm having a lot of pain. I don't feel sick, exactly, but it just hurts, like I've swallowed something sharp. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to avoid it? If it matters, I'm 4 weeks out from surgery today.
Thanks! ~Ava

Congrats on #1!
#2 - My newly post-op pouch did not like most beverages first thing in the morning, bu****er was especially difficult. I found that a nice warm cup of tea (decaf) was the perfect answer to my liquid dilemma until my new pouch had matured a bit (about 6 months for me). I still, if I chug water too early, get a "gross" feeling, so I tend to like warm beverages first thing in the a.m. until my pouch wakes up and is ready to start the day herself.
Oh, maybe I'll try some tea tomorrow. I always wake up SO dry and thirsty, so I'm dying for some icy water. Apparently my tummy does NOT agree!
