My surgery is October 7th. Yay!!! I know all surgeons do things similar but different. What were you instructed to eat/drink/ingest the first two weeks after surgery?

I'm so excited!!! Any cool tips welcomed too! I will follow my surgeons instructions, but just curious on differences.

Thx

Ashley

That's cool! We will be moving along together pretty closely post op weeks wise! Are you on a pre op diet? I have to do only shakes (no food) for two weeks before surgery. The shakes are optifast.

Surgeon didnt require one but I have been eliminating many things in my diet for the last 7 months.

Getting my mind, body and soul ready for battle.

Taking classes, counseling and joined the gym at work.

I did Medifast years ago and after a while, once you are in Ketosis, its not too bad.

Hang in there this is going to go FAST !! We ARE doing this !

I had mine August 27th...first day home was clear liquids (water, jello, broth). Then for 2 weeks: sf pudding, sf smooth yogurt, strained creamed soups, pourable cream of wheat and protein shakes. Yep, that's it!

Loveto travel, how are you doing? Any problems or are you having a relatively easy time?

It actually varies A LOT from one surgeon to another, so it teally isnt "similar but different".  I know people who had to do FOUR WEEKS of liquids and purées whereas I was on soft food on Day Three.  I had cream of wheat (Ick), oatmeal, yogurt, and scrambled eggs before I left the hospital, and my second week out I had tuna, baked cod, and a baked buffalo chicken nugget.

Just had surgery on 9/12, my diet has been the same as Love2travel4, but I can have Wendy's chili as long as is it blended, able to go thru a strainer.  Looks terrible, but boy it has been hitting the spot this week!  See doctor on Monday, hope to progress to next stage.
