If you search on a Cary, NC support group, they just had someone post in the last few days about an upcoming meeting. I would think they might have someone who at least knows of that surgeon if you search and post on that thread.

Good luck!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

Hi There,

I'm a patient of Dr Rajan Sudan at Duke Weight Loss Center in Durham NC.  He is firm, direct, and straight to the point! I had the RNY on 12/11/2012. Thus far I am 68lbs down. I had an appointment about 2wks ago, while he was okay with my weight loss he was not thrilled. He indicated he wanted me around 10-15 more lbs lost.. Needless to say I am back working out "after 2 months" 2 protein shakes a day, and a meal. I have lost 3lbs each week.

I say all of this to say, I think I could have lost more if I worked out more so he was correct for saying what he did. I've been told he is one of the best, and I believe it as my truth...

Hi! My Name is Joyce! I am 45 and I am from Virginia! I last weigh in was 454 lbs. I am looking into weight loss surgery. Here are some of what I have Severe Degenerative Joint Disease, Fibromyalgia, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Sleep Apnea, Asthma, Mild COPD, Depression, IBS, Acid Reflux. I think that is all.
My Hubby’s insurance will not cover the surgery, but I have Medicare as my secondary insurance and they said they would pay 80% after my hubby’s insurance denies it and files to them. Medicare also told me I would have a Part A inpatient deductible of $1,184.00 for this year, which is fine. Medicare also said they didn’t require a 6 month supervised diet. Anybody else from Virginia?
I was looking into the DS surgery because one of my meds is a NSAID and I researched a surgeon in North Carolina Dr. Rajan Sudan. Because he does the DS surgery’s
Looking for patients of Dr. Sudan who have surgery recently to see what he says about NSAIDS and does he require a 6 month diet. What does Dr. Sudan require?

Go to the DS board and post there. I had my RNY from another surgeon at Duke. With the DS, you can take NSAIDS.
