What is hernia repair

My surgeon plans to repair my hernia with the rny.  Some posts say people with hernia repairs don't feel any different and some people say they do.  Any visuals out there.  I just can't get a mental picture of whats going to be done.

I had a small hernia repair with my RNY and a large one when I had the band some years go.  Both times I felt like I had been kicked in the stomach by a mule.  No idea what part of the pain was WLS surgery and what was hernia.  How can you separate it?  It is a package deal.  I don't know if I had not had the hernia repaired if i would have felt better.  It needed to be done so I did it.  I feel great now.

I had two repaired with my RNY. The only visual I could see was the indention in my lower belly. I go that one from pregnancy. My other was a hiatial hernia. The only side effect from that was it hurt like heck to take a deep breath. But that got better and I was so thankful my dr repaired them during surgery. No problems since.
