1 year surgiversary! Updated w/various pics from the last year WOWOWOWOW!
Exactly 1 year ago today my life changed forever. I remember when I joined this forum almost a year ago reading posts like this and feeling like it was so far away, so unreal, a dream... you name it. Now... just wow.. So I purposefully haven't been on the scale recently because I wanted to be a little surprised. I stepped on the scale this morning after my shower and it said 222.4lbs!!! In the last year I have lost 167lbs in addition to the 51lbs lost in the 6 months prior for a whopping total of 217lbs. My boyfriend weighs 224lbs... so to think I basically lost the equivalent of him BLOWS MY MIND. My weight loss obviously has slowed significantly but if I can continue to lost 8-10lbs a month then in about 5 more months I'll be at goal which is right on track! It's funny, I know I've been somewhat stalled for the last few weeks... probably fluctuating between the same 2 or 3 pounds then all of a sudden the last week I've noticed my face looks even thinner, my watch now needs another link taken out of it because it turns the entire way around my wrist AND my boyfriend and I started looking at engagement rings about 4-5 weeks ago and we went to the jeweler last Friday and my ring size went from in between a 7 and 7.5 to between a 6.5 and 7 (7 is too loose and 6.5 fits but a little to snug). I have two doctors appointments today, one with my bariatric surgeon and the other with my plastic surgeon. I'm so freaking happy and excited. The holidays are coming. A year ago my boyfriend and I booked a trip to Florida for 2 weeks. The whole sentiment behind it was to do things I otherwise would not have been able to do at 440lbs. I decided I wanted to go ziplining (in addition to riding EVERY RIDE at Disney and Universal and Busch Gardens). The weight restriction is 250lbs so ziplining here I come!!! There is this Eco Safari place outside Orlando. It's a wild life conservation area and you can zipline from tree to tree. They also have this zipline coaster. It looks like SOOOO much fun and I can't freaking wait!!! Anyway - been waiting a year to be able to make this post!! I can't believe it's been a year! I just want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to those who have helped me over the last year. It's so wonderful to have this network of support - I probably would have lost my mind months ago if it wasn't for this forum! So again - THANK YOU!
