How long did most of you have to wait to enjoy salad again?  My NUT said 6 months.  I had lap band and revised to RNY 10/29/2013.  I actually miss salad!

I had RNY surgery on April 1st.  I think I was eating salads by about 3-4 months and it's a big staple for me now.  I'm grateful I can still eat them, since it's one of the "healthy" foods that I would choose to eat because I enjoy them so much.  I did have a friend who couldn't eat them until about the 6 month mark.

every plan is different. I had to wait until 3 mo out to add veggies and then only 1/2 cup after I got my protein in. I would not have been able to get it in at that point and still get in my protein for the day. I feel that you should pick your surgeon not only based on his cutting skills but the plan he offers, and in doing so one should follow the plan they are given.

technically i don't think i was supposed to until month 6 but i started eating salad again at month 3.  I missed salad too and had to have some.  I just made sure i had crab meat or chicken to get my protein in.

I started with select raw veggies around 3 months, and gradually progressed to just about everything.  Just go slow, it seems not everyone can tolerate them well...

I think six weeks.  Until I was on a regular diet. Why does your nutritionist want you to wait so long?

We were allowed to start raw veggies at 8 weeks.  I chose to use shredded lettuce as it seems easier for me to tolerate.  It is amazing how cravings change after surgery.  Salad, who would of thought?  LOL
