My list says next week I can have baked potatoe. ( no butter) :( which I know I can't have it. So that's not gonna be a problem. What is a good replacement that would be good for me? I like baked potatoes and mashed potatoes but not really without butter. Any ideas ? Thanks

Melted cheese? The cheese is protein.

Cheese or plain greek yogurt are good.

I would use plain greek yogurt (instead of sour cream) and some salt and pepper!

Far be it from me to argue with your doctor, but IMHO butter will hurt you far less than a potato (unless you have dairy issues).  Fat is not the enemy when used in moderation.

But I am not your doctor... just someone who has lost, and kept off, nearly 190 pounds eating more butter than potatoes, lol!

I agree that potatoes are much worse for you than butter.  My plan allowed potatoes, but I never ate them while losing and almost never eat them at seven years out.  Some with noodles, pasta, rice and bread.  I stick to protein and low carb.

Yep, what White Dove said.  I would recommend that you pass on the potato altogether.

I'm with the last three posters. I don't do low fat anything. Butter won't hurt you, and it's better than the chemicals in butter substitutes. Potatoes just won't give you much nutrition while you are on very low calories, and will leave you craving more.
